grand mosque abu dhabi

I can’t believe its been three months since my husband and I packed our bags and moved to the other side of the world. Now that I’m back in Chicago (for a few days) I’ve been reflecting on all the different experiences we’ve had. I wanted to share with all of you some of the highlights of the past three months.

Words cannot describe the beauty of the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, which also happens to be the biggest mosque in the UAE. The architecture, the marble, the carpet inside and the chandelier makes the mosque a must-see.

Ever since moving I’ve wanted to go on a desert tour but at the time it was way to warm! I can now say that the wait was totally worth it! We went dune bashing, camel riding and sand skiing. I will confess ( very embarrassing) that all the screaming and turning while dune bashing made me sick, it was like being on a roller coaster in the middle of the desert! haha

On December the 2nd the UAE celebrated its 43rd National Day. What? Well what I’ve learned in the past 3 months is that the National Day represents the date when the UAE was actually formed. It also means vacations days, fireworks, fighter jets and more celebrations…

Taking a helicopter tour over Dubai might have been one of my favorite experiences so far. Seeing the man-made islands roughly form a world map is pretty espectacular. The picture/house you see above is owned by formular 1 driver, Michael Schumacher.

One of the biggest highlights so far? Having both of my brothers visit…

Hope everyone is having a great week and thank you so much for reading but most importantly thank you so much for following and being a part of this exciting journey…
