When I first moved from Venezuela to Chicago in 2008 everything was new to me – the streets, the shops, the people, even the snow! My family and I had traveled to the US (mostly Miami) a few times before, to shop during the summer break and before Christmas. Even with the many retail options out there my family always seemed to go to the same store, Macy’s! I will never forget spending countless hours with my mom shopping for new clothes for school, shoes, a few gifts to take back to my relatives, helping my dad choose shirts and even buying an extra suitcase to take back to Venezuela. Macy’s seemed to have it all! So after moving to Chicago it was only natural that Macy’s became my go-to store. Even though I was new in Chicago, I felt at home at Macy’s, shopping for Christmas decorations, make-up, or just for the perfect white summer dress – Macy’s became my go-to shopping destination.
When Macy’s asked me to host a summer and travel styling event I couldn’t believe it! The first thing I did was to call my mom!! I’m so happy and excited to work with one of my favorite stores! Alongside Kelly from the KellyInTheCity, I will be sharing a few of my favorites pieces from INC to bring on your next summer getaway. Over the past month, I’ve been traveling nonstop (Abu Dhabi, Aruba, Venezuela, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC) so I can’t emphasize enough the importance of “smart packing.”
Hope to see you all on this Saturday (the 30th) at 1:00pm CT at the Chicago Macy’s on State Street for a great afternoon of music, fashion and travel tips. See you then!
